Our Introductory programmes have been designed to ensure that students can start developing their enterprise skills earlier – whether in Key Stage 2 at primary school, or at the beginning of secondary school in Key Stage 3. The sooner students start, the sooner they learn to work in teams, share their ideas and organise themselves, resulting in higher engagement and better learning throughout their whole school careers.

The Introductory programmes are run as self-contained 10-week-long modules which link to the National Curriculum for PSHE and develop students’ skills around a central project. Each module ends with an event that allows students to showcase what they’ve learnt, encouraging them to work towards this end goal.

Modules:
There are currently three different modules, focused on: Environmental Awareness, Different Cultures, and Campaigning against Bullying.

More about the Modules:

Module One: Trash to Treasure
Students are challenged to design and produce an environmentally friendly toy made from recycled materials. Generously supported by Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, the course builds up to a final competition, hosted in Freshfields’ prestigious London officers, where students present the results of their projects.

Module Two: Mange Tout!
This module is designed to link with the students’ understanding of different cultures. Using a hit film as a starting point, students use food as a route to understanding and exploring their different cultures. Through the central project, students carry out market research, taste test their ideas, and finally present their ideas and market their final products.

Module Three: Making Changes
Students’ presentation and communication skills are developed as they create an anti-bullying campaign. The focus during the initial weeks is on learning about different forms of communicating, and the course then builds up to a final ‘performance’ where students can use assembly or Enrichment time to raise awareness about an issue that they care about.
