On 26th November, City University hosted a day that was slightly different to normal. They welcomed three different schools to take a tour of their university, meet the students and take on an enterprise challenge. Throughout the day they took on many different tasks to plan an awards event for students to reward their hard work.

St Pauls and All Hallows, St Francis De Sales and St Mary’s and St Johns joined forces in this challenge. They formed into teams such as Aiming High, Building Building Brain Power, Clever Clogs City University, Diversity, Eliminating Eagles and Financial Falcons. They designed events to a very high standard, coming up with international or Christmas themes, posh buffets and exciting magicians for entertainment.

The winners were the Financial Falcons who ‘used lots of persuasive language and engaged the audience throughout and were able to explain why the students at City University deserved to be rewarded’

One teacher said ‘it was great to watch how the Year 7 students interacted with the primary students and had the opportunity to develop their experience of leadership and empathy’

‘I want to come here and study astrology or maybe even chemistry when I am older’ said one Year 5 student.
