London Academy students’ enterprise education was brought to life last week when they attended a Careers Afternoon, hosted by Oliver Wyman management consultants in their offices on Baker Street. Over the afternoon, the students had the opportunity to think about what skills were vital for successful futures and how they could go about developing those skills for themselves. Along the way, students had to work in teams to choose which candidates they would take to the moon, interrogated volunteers from Oliver Wyman about what they did (and didn’t!) like about their work and what skills they thought were most essential, and then designed their ideal “Apprentice”.

Although young to be starting to think about careers, the Oliver Wyman volunteers reported back that the questions they’d been asked were incredibly sharp and occasionally almost brutally direct! Sounds good to us.
