The School:

St. Elizabeth are in their first year working with Enabling Enterprise. Previously, students have been busy developing their Essential Skills by taking on an exciting finance task at Brewin Dolphin and exploring the law at Dentons. Today’s challenge was a fantastic opportunity for students from Nursery through to Year 6 to put their Essential Skills to the test and prepare for their exciting enterprise week in May.

The Challenge: Future Transport

Over the course of the day, students were Working in a Team to research, design, build and test a new form of transport for the future. They were set the challenge from Ronnie the Robot who’d travelled back in time to explain what the world would be like many years in the future. Teams applied their Problem Solving and Staying Positive skills through a series of challenges designed to put them to the test. At the end of the day, students tested each other’s designs and practised their presenting by Sharing Ideas in front of the class.

What they said:

  • “This has been good for working on their imaginations. They’re really thinking outside the box. They’re taking things they know and changing it to make something new.” – Teacher EYFS
  • “It is interesting to see how they have settled into their teams. They found it difficult at first, we had a few teething problems, but they are really starting to work well together.” – Teacher KS1
  • “This has been the best day ever!” – Student LKS2
  • “We’re professional car makers because we know how to work together in a team.” – Student UKS2

Thanks to everyone for such a great Challenge Day!
