The School:

Hardenhuish School in Chippenham, Wiltshire, is in its first year working with Enabling Enterprise. Today’s challenge was a fantastic opportunity for students from Year 10 to put their Essential Skills to the test as part of their cross-curricular day as they were learning about a new career path.

The Challenge: Law in Action

Over the course of the day, students used their Working in a Team skills to investigate the world of law. The main aims of the day were to turn around a failing law firm through successful rebranding whilst the various teams competed with each other to represent different clients in a variety of civil law cases. Students were Presenting their ideas and Being Creative to represent both claimants and defendants, by analysing evidence and creating counter-arguments. Teams developed their advocacy skills whilst learning about trial procedure and participating in a series of mock trials.

What they said:

  • “It’s been a brilliant opportunity to work with my tutor group for the day, they’ve been engaged and I am pleased to see some quality teamwork and leadership skills on show.” – Teacher
  • ” It’s been a great day. I’ve learnt how to use my opinion to make sure I get heard, how to put my point across, but to consider others’ opinions too.” – Student

Thanks to everyone for such a great Challenge Day!
