The School:

Grendon Primary is in their fourth year working with Enabling Enterprise. Previously, students have been busy developing their Enterprise Skills by designing a new mode of transport for the future. Today’s challenge was a fantastic opportunity for students from Year three to Year six to put their Enterprise Skills to the test.

The Challenge: Social Entrepreneur

Over the course of the day, students used their Working in a Team skills to develop entrepreneurial solutions to social problems that need tackling. In teams, the students explored the different problems affecting the people in their community, before applying their Problem Solving skills and to decide on the best way to help them. After developing a new social enterprise and creating advertising materials, students used their Presenting skills to share their solutions in a community trade fair.

What they said:

  • “A great day with a great range of child centred activities that enabled the children to apply and develop their essential skills” – Teacher
  • “This was the best lesson ever! Working in a team has really helped us to solve problems today” – Student
  • “I think our Community café idea could really help homeless people ” – Student

Thanks to everyone for such a great Challenge Day!
