The School: Werneth School

Werneth School are working with Enabling Enterprise for the first time this year. It is a large secondary school in Stockport for students aged between 11 – 16 years. Today, their first Enabling Enterprise trip, saw a group of talented Year 9 pupils Leading the way and getting things started with a visit to RSA.

The Business: RSA, Manchester

The Challenge: Lend-A-Hand

Lend-A-Hand brings together 8 essential skills with a specific focus on Problem Solving and Staying Positive. The students today took on the role of financial advisors and guided a family in making sensible decisions with their money. In order to do this they needed to ensure they were Listening and Understanding the needs of the family. To help prepare them, the day kicked off with a higher and lower value quiz base on the price of popular luxury items and moved on to a thought provoking lifestyle quiz.

The Results:

Through Working in a Team and Aiming High the students made a huge success of the day. They considered the complex problems and carefully reviewed a large number of pros and cons in order to advise their clients. It was fantastic to see the students Being Creative and having in depth discussions about which options they felt were the best for the family. Finally, it was time for each team to showcase their Presenting skills which they did marvellously! The judges were blown away by how professional and confident the students were and how well they articulated their learnings from the day.
