The School:

Guardian Angels School are in their first year of working with Enabling Enterprise. Back in school, pupils have been busy developing their Enterprise Skills with their teachers. Today’s trip was a fantastic opportunity for pupils from Years 3 and 4 to put their Staying Positive and Problem Solving skills to the test with the support from professional business volunteers.

The Business:

Part of the Lloyds Banking Group, Lex Autolease is the UK’s leading fleet management specialist. Lex Autolease provide low-cost car & vehicle leasing for businesses.

The Challenge: Lend-a-Hand

The day started off with the pupils interviewing our volunteers from Lex Autolease to find out about their different roles, responsibilities and the Enterprise Skills required to do their jobs. Pupils then went on a tour of the premises, which allowed the teams to see the great variety of jobs available in the world of finance and vehicle leasing.
Taking on the role of Financial Advisors, pupils were given the task of advising a family to make sensible financial decisions for a range of different life events. Teams had to put their Problem Solving skills to the test to work out the pros and cons of different suggestions. Taking the priorities and needs of the family on board, teams then worked together to suggest the best possible course of action for their family. The day culminated with teams holding a budgeting meeting to share their top tips and financial advice. Volunteers watched the meeting and used their expertise to judge which team had used their enterprise skills to the highest standard in order to make the most sensible decisions along the way.
