Societe Generale in Tower Hill was certainly the fitting venue for this trading challenge. After some energetic warm up games and introductions from business volunteers, students from Canon Barnett Primary School, Grange Primary and Downsell Primary School joined mixed teams and got straight down to business.

Working to tight deadlines and initially only with a small amount of Enabling Enterprise Dollars, students had to think quickly to decide what resources they would buy. Once production started, there was no stopping the students as they rushed to produce as many cards as possible. With the guidance of Societe Generale volunteers, students came up with strong sales pitches to guarantee their cards sold for the highest price and then reinvested their gains in new resources.

The final presentations showed that all teams broke even with several teams making staggering net profits of up to $180 dollars! However, it was not all about the money. The judges were also looking for confident presentations which showed students had reflected on their journey. In the end the panel decided two teams should share the prestigious top spot thanks to their great all round performances.

It was a pleasure to lead the event and I would like to say a huge thank you to the volunteers for giving up their time on the day and making this a day to remember for the students.
