The Schools: Adderley Primary School, Marlborough Junior School, St Michael’s CE Primary Academy, Court Farm Primary and Oasis Academy Foundry

The five Birmingham schools were welcomed through the doors of JLL in the heart of the city centre, to learn more the world of enterprise education. The students came together in groups of five to test their Enterprise Skills against each other and create some healthy competition. Each school, having eagerly signed up for the competition, were keen to start the day and exercise their skills whilst learning about what is involved in the property and construction sector.

The Business: JLL, Birmingham

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated or JLL is a professional services and investment management company specialising in real estate. JLL employ more than 58,000 people in more than 1,000 locations in 80 countries. Alongside construction, development and property management, JLL also offers a range of financial services.

The Challenge: Brilliant Builds

Working as construction companies, supported by volunteers from JLL, teams were challenged to design a new multi-purpose building which would meet the wants and needs of residents within a local community. Working to tight deadlines, the Year 5 and 6 students made sure they made the most of the opportunity to speak to JLL employees and find out about the world of construction. Pitching against each other, the students concluded the day by presenting their building idea and plan with the judges having the difficult task of deciding who had shown outstanding skills when Sharing Ideas and Leading.

The Results:

The teams demonstrated their skills at Staying Positive and Sharing Ideas by planning and delivering their presentations in a fast-paced professional environment. Each team proved they were Being Creative throughout the challenge, and it was a tough decision for the judges to decide who should be crowned the winners of the day. Well done to all teams for Aiming High.
