The School: South Nottinghamshire Academy

Just weeks away from their work experience, Year 10 students got the opportunity to practice their Working in a Team, Problem Solving and Presenting skills on the Law in Action Challenge Day.

The Challenge: Law in Action

Year 10 took on the challenge of rescuing a failing law firm. They had to rebrand the firm, attract clients and earn legal fees as they took on employment, housing and personal injury cases. The challenge required careful analysis, effective teamwork and a lot of creative thinking to come up with strong arguments. The day culminated with teams going to trial and battling out each case.

The Results:

Students coped very well in the unfamiliar word of law. They showed off their creative skills with professional-looking law firm branding before diving into the case files. The trials were a passionate affair with each team really doing their best for their client and presenting with flair.

What they said:

  • “[The students] really got stuck into the trial and everyone definitely wanted to win, which was great to see!” – Teacher, Year 10
  • “Today’s been unexpectedly fun! It was interesting to learn about the different types of law.” – Student, Year 10

Well done to everyone who was involved.
