The School: John Perryn Primary School

Located in Ealing, John Perryn have been developing their students’ Enterprise Skills for the past three years through a range of business trips, Lesson-Time Projects and Challenge Days. Therefore today the bar was placed high in terms of Problem solving and Working in a Team. Let’s see how they got on in this stretching challenge.

The Challenge: Crime Scene

It was due to be a peaceful celebration day at John Perryn with the aspiring violinists performing in front of the whole school, but Detective Alanna had to break the news that the ‘Sugar Snatcher’ had struck again. Students were shocked to discover that, over night, all the chocolate had been stolen from the school kitchen! Now it was their job to find out who committed this crime by taking on the roles of detectives and crime scene investigators, using a range of strategies in their teams throughout the day.

The Results:

Teams listened carefully to a wide range of evidence, including a visit to the scene of the crime to hunt for clues. John Perryn students impressed their teachers and the Enabling Enterprise team with their outstanding team work and logical reasoning. The students looked at all the evidence they had collected over the day and worked together to decide who they thought was guilty of this heinous crime! The day culminated in an impressive round of professional presentations to the Case Officer Steven: all the adults were impressed with the teams’ findings and how well the students had pieced the evidence together.
