The Schools: Wrekin View Primary School and Woodhouse Primary Academy

Students from Wrekin View and Woodhouse have been busy at school completing Enterprise Projects. With enterprise skills at the ready, volunteers and students were raring to go with day’s challenge.

The Business: Bromford Exchange Court, Wolverhampton

Bromford Group is a leading provider of affordable homes in the UK and owns around 26,000 properties. The company has been in the sector for over 50 years and has been recognised with numerous awards for its work to support the communities it serves. Volunteers from Bromford’s IT department joined the supported the students on their enterprise challenge today.

The Challenge: Spread the Word

Students started the day by meeting the volunteers and going on a tour of the impressive Exchange Court offices. On their journey they were looking out for colours, brands and logos which they could use in the task later on. After grilling the volunteers about their roles and the challenge skills they use day to day in the office, the children were ready to start using their imagination. The teams worked together to design and create a mascot for Bromford that could be used in future campaigns. To promote their new mascot, the students were challenged to share ideas and aim high as they put together a news broadcast demonstrating what they had learnt about Bromford Housing.

The Results:

Teams were really creative and made excellent mascots, some of which the volunteers thought could actually be used in future campaigns! The volunteers provided useful feedback as the judging commenced with all teams demonstrating good progress in using their enterprise skills in producing a great final product.

What they said:

  • “The volunteers have really supported the students with their imagination skills today. A great team for the students to work with” – Teacher, Wrekin View Primary School
  • “I am so impressed with the level of skills that the students have, to work in a team with strangers is incredibly difficult” – Volunteer, Bromford
  • “I have really enjoyed seeing the offices here, they are really cool, I like how they use all the gadgets to help them be creative.” – Student, Woodhouse Primary Academy

Thanks to Bromford for such a great trip day, and to Year 6 from Wrekin View Primary School and Year 5 from Woodhouse Primary Academy for coming along.
