The School: Kingsbury Green Primary School

Kingsbury Green Primary School, in Brent, have been working with Enabling Enterprise for several years. So far, Year 4 students have completed their Lesson Time projects and Year 5 students got a chance to go on a trip but for the Challenge Day, it was the turn of Year 1 to put their Challenge skills to the test!

The Challenge: Greetings Card Challenge

To help get ready for Christmas and the festive period, the three Year 1 classes worked in teams to design, create and sell their own ranges of Christmas cards. After thinking carefully about what a greetings card was and how to make a great one, Year 1 were ready to use their imaginations to make fantastically festive cards.

The Results:

Every single team in Year 1 produced brilliant cards, using their designs and their chosen resources. It was particularly great to see that lots of the teams had listened carefully to each other’s ideas and worked together to create cards with similar designs: jolly snowmen, beautiful snowflakes and lots of glitter! Students then got the chance to show off their designs to other classes at the end of the day.

What they said:

  • “The day was a brilliant success and I had just as much fun with it as the children.” – Teacher, Kingsbury Green
  • “I helped my friend draw his snowman and he helped me write my message because we were being kind” – Student, Kingsbury Green

Well done to everyone who was involved.
