The School: William Tyndale Primary

William Tyndale has worked with Enabling Enterprise for three years, with students taking part in lesson time projects and visiting businesses in a range of different industries. Every class will be working on new lesson time projects this year, their challenge day comes as an exciting skills pit stop in the year.

The Challenge: Operation Moonbase

From the very start of the day, students worked in small teams and were set the mission to create a brand new society on a moon that has just been discovered. After taking on the roles of young managers, all students had to use both their teamwork and problem-solving skills to select an ideal crew. Next up, a brand new species of animal, which could help them thrive on their new Moonbase.

The Results:

Having worked together to choose a crew and design an animal, teams across the school then set to work building a dream city. Overcoming problems along the way to meet the needs of their new citizens, they had to work together to get the job done before the looming deadline struck. The teams then had the opportunity to share their ideas and each class chose a winning design.

What they said:

  • “It’s great for them to have the practice at working together, and listening to each other” – Teacher, William Tyndale
  • “Next time I think we should spend more time on our thinking so that our decision is one we can all be happy with.” – Student, William Tyndale

Well done to everyone who was involved.
