On Friday, a group of students from the Isle of Sheppey Academy travelled to Baker Street and spent a great day at management consultancy Oliver Wyman. The pupils, ranging from Year 7 – 11 were given the opportunity to interview and work alongside several kind volunteers from the company, drawing inspiration from their stories and getting valuable advice for their future careers.

After learning about the organisation and chatting to the volunteers during the Careers Carousel, the students were ready to get started on the day’s challenge! They were given the task of transforming a failing fast food chain, and had to come up with a business strategy which included everything from branding and advertising to pricing and product. Each team delivered a truly impressive and professional pitch, so much so that some volunteers started to worry that they’d be done out of a job!

Well done to all the students for working so well together and for producing such impressive presentations. Our thanks go to all the helpful volunteers at Oliver Wyman for making it such an inspiring day.
