On Thursday, 20 of Greenford High School’s 80 Enabling Enterprise students travelled to the London Business School and became engineers for the day.  The pupils ventured to Regents Park to take part in an exciting bridge building challenge.

Students were split into different groups, each of which was assisted by one of LBS’ kind volunteers.  The teams were given the task of constructing a bridge, having being given a set amount of resources.  They then had the option of trading their resources with other groups, but had to ensure that they planned and managed their budgets or else disaster could strike!  And indeed it did strike one team which had forgotten to plan and had to start from scratch half way through.  However, they made a very valiant effort and came through in the end with a very respectable looking bridge.  Well done to them for persevering!

Congratulations go to the winning team which created an extremely impressive and rather professional looking construction – the fact that their LBS volunteer was a civil engineer was purely coincidental.

Well done to all the teams and many thanks to all of the volunteers who helped make it such a fun and rewarding day!
