The School: Cranford Primary

All children across Cranford Primary School participated in an exciting Challenge Day which required them to work together to set up their own political parties. Many pupils used this opportunity to build on their experience of using the Challenge Skills in other Challenge Days and projects such as Art Gallery in Year 1.

The Challenge: A Day in Politics

Pupils set to the task of using problem solving to create meaningful party manifestos focusing on areas of society they wanted to help. The children impressed their class teachers with a range of fantastic ideas as they displayed an ability to share and listen to one another. Pupils wanted to aim high in order to secure votes for their teams and therefore designed and decorated a stash of part materials.

The Results:

The school rose to the day’s challenge very well and successfully worked to tight deadlines whilst using a variety of the Challenge Skills. Each party listened carefully to the other parties manifestos before taking part in a secret ballot and announcing the overall winning teams.

What they said:

  • “They’ve worked so hard today and really enjoyed all the activities. It’s been so much fun they want to do it again.’’- Teacher, Cranford Primary
  • “It’s good to hear other people’s opinions to help us decide.’’- Student, Cranford Primary

Well done to everyone who was involved.
